Meet the founders of Spark!
Mayank Tiku
Founder
Mayank is a high-achieving junior at Livingston High School. For as long as he could remember, electronics always fascinated him and as he grew up, his knowledge and expertise grew with him. From small at home projects like installing smart switches and automating household appliances, Mayank’s passion for electronics motivated him to expand his knowledge so he delved into the world of app creation. After just a couple years, Mayank’s app is under review to be integrated into the Livingston Public Schools paid subscription program. A platform where high schoolers can rate the AP classes they’ve taken, LancerSync is just one of his many projects. Mayank also likes to experiment with PCB boards, where he developed his very own sensor using low-power smart home protocols.
Mahi Jaladi
Founder
Mahi is a high-achieving sophomore at Livingston High School. Growing up with a younger brother, she developed a passion for education very early on in her life. As she progressed through middle school, she found herself constantly surrounded by electronics and automation. She began to experiment with these technologies and soon started to explore the cross-section between computer and electrical engineering. Her curiosity and passion for education motivated her to create Spark, an organization that helps young children find their own passion in the broad field of electronics. Now, Mahi is an excellent Python and CSS coder and is able to use her expertise to pursue electrical automation in her personal and professional life. Outside of the classroom, she holds a job at Kumon, where she works with early learners to assist them in their education journey. She is also a freelance website designer, where she uses HTML and CSS to create websites such as the one you’re on now!
